This is the foremost unit in Robotic surgery with a significant number of prostatectomies being done 
(Around 5600 till now and 1000 every year) The fellowship includes full fledged robotic console training and the fellow has the opportunity to be involved with about 2000 radical robotic prostatectomies making this experience unrivalled any where in the world.

This large urology department is a centre for Uro-oncology  and in conjunction with UCL serves as a tertiary referral centre for all cancer services in the north London area . Main focus is minimally invasive therapy for uro oncology and General urology including open radical prostatectomies , cystectomies and reconstructive urology.

The Urology department is a 100-bedded unit with 3 consultants and 4 registrars in a 1000 bedded premier teaching institution of the country. 1500 major procedures and 3000 minor urological procedures are done in a year.  As a full time resident trainee, I was exposed to transplantation, Endourology, laparoscopic urology and Uro oncology and urological trauma. It involves first on call duties twice a week.  I have independently performed TURP, URS, OIU, pyelolithotomy, pyeloplasty, urethroplasty and simple nephrectomy., radical nephrectomies and bed preparation for renal transplantation and Av fistulas.  First hand experience in performing Urodynamics

These were my first 2 years of full time Urology training and the busy work load coupled with less number of staff gave me ample opportunities to have first hand experience in Uro-gynaecology and being the training center for no scalpel vasectomy technique gave me ample opportunity to become proficient in the technique. Uro-radiology – Ultrasound KUB, IVP, AUG, RGP, USG guided PCN and AGP were my responsibility.
Proficient in all day case urology and uro-gynecology procedures including vesico-vaginal fistulas.

This one-month in urology kindled my interest in this field.
