He had received his MBE from the queen on the 12 of June 1997 for the service to medicine.
While he was working in Lowestoft a sea side town in East Anglia he had managed to improve the quality of his patients life by setting up Fast Angina clinic in James Paget hospital and also set up self care help group for patients. He got involved by giving regular lecture on medical treatment and care for patients and their families. He had encouraged them to discuss among themselves for emotional support etc. He was always available for his friends and patients like. He had worked for Astra zeneca with the research team and they discovered a molecule to produce Rosuvastatin and he did research on asthma death in England and he presented his results in Lancet. It was well received and helped to set up Asthma clinic in local hospitals, for quick recovery of patients.
One time they were going to close the lowstoft hospital and he fought for it and made it into local community hospital with the help of local MP. Community hospital helping older patient to have respite etc. He had been Rotary member for 15 years. After retirement he moved to Enfield and joined local rotary and continued helping local people in so many ways. Enfield town didn’t have CPR machine and he decided to do something about it. He managed to get the machine fitted in the town centre for every one to use and he did teach many people to do CPR in the town center. He had managed to fit one machine in Edmonton mosque as well and taught the imam and other devotees to do CPR. He was very caring and helped not only friends and Rotarian’s with there health problems etc. Medicine was his passion and he had lived his life to full. We are going to miss him but he would want us to carry with our journey.
