Orations and Endowment Lectures:

1. The Maharaja of Travancore Curzon Memorial Lecture in Medicine of the Madras University –Jan 15, 16, 17 in the year 1967.  Sub; Urological Disorders in Infancy and Childhood.
              Was the youngest lecturer in the history of this 60year old endowment.
2. Hall of Fame Lecture of the International College of Surgeons at Chicago       23rd October 1974.            
               Sub: A Medical History of Mahatma Gandhi.
3. Pandalai Oration  1980  Association of Surgeons of India.      Sub:   Surgery of Pancreas in Childhood
4. Ginde Oration      1980  International College  of Surgeons, ( Indian Section ) Sub:   “Leadership in surgery.”

Research:

During 1961-62  was surgical Research fellow at the Royal Childrens Hospital , Melbourne under Dr.F.D.Stephens, MS, FRACS, Director of Surgical Research.

During this period personally investigated  patients with congenital urethral obstruction due to Urethral Diverticula  as well as serial section study of  preserved specimens of  Urethral diveticula. Based on this study a paper was presented at The Australian Academy of Paediatrics meeting at  Canberra , Australia in March 1962 and a paper published in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery.( Aust.N.Z.J,Surg.32,209. 1963. The classification proposed is now part of Urological Literature and after 40 years still quoted in books and papers on this subject.

  He was a skilled surgeon great teacher orator and an administrator. A man of highest integrity he continued paediatic surgery and paediatric laparoscopy till his early eighties.
