PERSONAL PROFILE
Started his career as a Medical Student in the prestigious, reputed and oldest institution in the country viz. Madras Medical College.

On completion of the Medical degree, served for more than 10 years in rural areas. During that period served the poor people towards preventive angle on epidemic and communicable diseases. Awarded the Best Medical Officer at district level by the District Collector.

Received the Gold Medal for achieving the target in the Family Welfare Programme at the District level.

Was the Third Medical Officer in the State to achieve the certificate in the above programme at state level.

After completion of the rural health service, joined as a PG in General Surgery and acquired M.S. degree under Madras University.

After finishing my Post graduation, joined as a teaching faculty in the same college from
where graduated viz. M.M.C.

Keeping in view the seniority, elevated from the position of Assistant Professor to
Registrar in the department of Surgery.

In the capacity as Registrar took active part in conducting the FRCS (Part II) examination
in Madras Medical College. That was the first time FRCS examination was conducted in
India.

In conducting the above examination was awarded as efficient Registrar by the Edinburg
University.

Elevated as Professor of Surgery in the Stanley Medical College which is one of the oldest
and reputed Institutions in the country. There, in the capacity of Professor and HOD of
Surgery, have taken part as an Examiner for both UG and PG of various Indian
Universities viz. Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences, NTR University, Tamil
Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University etc.

As Professor and Head of the departments of Surgery attended several National and
International Conferences. Also conducted Regional and National seminars, symposia and
CMEs for Post-graduates and Under-graduates.

Most of the post graduates trained by me are now in highest positions in the field of
Medicine in foreign countries especially U.K., U.S.A. and far east countries.

Have been a visiting Professor to many Universities both in India and abroad.
Served as a Vice Principal at Chengalpet Medical College for a period of three years.
Served as a Medical Superintendent at Stanley Medical College for a period of three
years.
From the position of Professor and Head of the department of Surgery elevated, as Dean
of Stanley Medical College by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

In that capacity have organized both National and International Conferences at the
Stanley Medical College.

The Tamil Nadu Government awarded the Best and Sincere Medical Teaching Faculty
for the year 2002.

Service rendered as an Administrator during Tsunami and Flood situation was well
appreciated by the Tamil Nadu Government and honoured with certificate of
appreciation.

After retirement from Govt. service assumed change as Dean of the prestigious Medical
College in the Private sector viz. Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute
now declared as a Deemed to be University in the name and style Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth by
the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission.

Becoming Founder Vice Chancellor from August 2008 for Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University (Deemed to be University) constituted under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.

As Vice-Chancellor have organized many International and National Conferences / CMEs in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute.

As Vice-Chancellor of SBV University conducted various Academic and Board of Management meetings Chairman of the respective committees and approved syllabus for various courses of UG, PG and Super specialty Medical Courses, various Nursing courses of Nursing College and syllabus for BDS course of Dental College of SBV University.

During the tenure of Vice-Chancellorship, 3 sets of PG Diploma courses and two sets of PG degree Medical course have successfully conducted the examinations and the above students were left this institute. Similarly two sets of M.Sc. (Nursing) and P.B.B.Sc. have successfully completed their courses and left the college.

Leading the Team of Foreign Signatories during their two visits from 8th and 10th September 2011 and from 9th to 12th March 2011 from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow / Glasgow University with regard to students Exchange Programe from Glasgow University to SBV University and presented to the team the entire activities of the Institute and taken rounds to all the sections of the institute.

Advised the Management for various Academic matters as and when sought for.

As Vice-Chancellor has taken steps to conduct free and fair professions and other examinations of newly born Deemed University for the last three years.

I, one among the MMCians, honoured by the Madras Medical College, Chennai during the celebration of 175 years of that College in February 2010 for holding the highest post of Vice Chancellor, SBV University in Medical Education career.

Honoured Life Time Achievement Award on 29th December, 2011 at India International Centre, New Delhi in the presence of National and International dignitaries on the occasion of the 2011 World Management Congress Meet.

Conferred Hony. FRCS (Glasg) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom during the Ceremony of Admission for the Honorary Fellowship held at Meydan Hotel, Dubai on 14.03.3012.

Taken part as an Organizer and also presided over the International Conference to discuss about "Patient First" in joint collaboration with Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow University, U.K. during the month of Nov. 2012 between

28th, 29th and 30th at Balaji Vidyapeeth University situated

Successfully conducted Final Year MBBS Examination for the 1st Batch of the Students of SBV University, results were published and as on date, the SBV university is awaiting to celebrate 1st Convocation for all courses.

Worked as Dean at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital from February 2014 to October 2018 and superannuated as I have attained 70 years.

Re appointed as a Medical Director in the same Institute from 2020 to till date.
